Behind the Words at KC RELO … McKenna Neef
McKenna Neef is a college student and freelance writer based out of Kansas City. McKenna is passionate about copywriting and lifestyle journalism and specializes in arts and culture writing. When not writing, McKenna is probably studying, singing, making coffee, or re-watching “Gilmore Girls” for the hundredth time.
McKenna currently attends the University of Missouri, where she studies journalism and strategic communications. McKenna has been writing professionally since she was 16 years old, and believes that words have power. She has previously created content for Vox Magazine, Thomas Lee Sheets, Brittany Link Marketing, Kicksite and Creightonian Newspaper. Over the years she’s continuously pushed herself into different areas and styles of writing – from copywriting for companies to reporting on restaurants, she’s never afraid to try something new.
McKenna has lived in several midwest cities throughout her lifetime, but none compare to Kansas City. Growing up in KC’s theater and performing arts scene, McKenna has experienced firsthand just how strong the Kansas City community is. Between the coffee shops, live music venues, local restaurants and kind-hearted people, McKenna loves being a Kansas Citian and hopes to share that message with the readers of KC RELO.
