It’s Your Wedding! KC Couples Enjoy Services of Local Wedding Officiant for His Non-Denominational & Diverse Nuptial Ceremonies
When 41 couples thought it was time to stand up and recite their vows in 2020 and 2021, they chose Josh Volland-Burns, owner of Wedley Weddings, to help them tie the knot. Who is Josh? He is both a nuptial ceremony insider, and a qualified “wedding officiant,” according to Erika Swift, Wedley Weddings Communication Director. In case you haven’t heard the “O” term before, Josh will tell you that as a wedding officiant, he is a person who can legally officiate a marriage ceremony, but he is not associated with a specific church or religious group.
In wider terms, a wedding officiant refers specifically to a non-denominational and non-religious official who carries no affiliation with any church. When a couple chooses a wedding officiant, they aren’t bound by the limits of any specific religious tradition or dogma. Couples who have differing religious backgrounds may prefer an officiant because multi-religious ceremonies can be customized thus honoring the religious traditions and beliefs of both families.
After realizing that many LGBTQ+ and other diverse couples were having a difficult time finding the right officiant for their weddings, Josh decided that he would like to fulfill this role. He became ordained and began his new officiant role in 2009. Josh then launched Wedley Weddings in 2020, a wedding officiant services agency whose goal is to assist each couple in their vow exchange so it will be inspiring, unique to the couple and unforgettable for them, the wedding party and guests alike. Josh views his role as to help all couples to feel welcomed and comfortable in his presence.
For brides and grooms preferring a non-religious ceremony, Josh and Wedley Weddings can assist them without the shortness and rigidness of the courthouse ceremony. Wedley Weddings has planned and conducted wedding ceremonies in a variety of venues, from a backyard setting to a romantic lakefront area to an elegant ballroom.
Wedley Weddings does not discriminate based on race, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, age or any other characteristic protected under the law. Wedley Weddings has received two national designations in their first year of operation for Wedding Officiant, The Knot, Best of Weddings 2021, and Wedding Rule, Editor’s Choice Award, 2020.
Wedley offers a free 30-minute consultation to interested parties. After the couple selects Wedley Weddings, an in-person meeting is scheduled for them and the officiant to discuss the couple’s preferences for their ceremony. Next, Josh or a member of his team will work with the couple to develop the perfect ceremony for their big day. Weldly’s fees are based on the level of services provided. All factors are taken into consideration when couples work with Wedley Weddings, such as budget, ceremony style, and location.
Wedley Weddings is also prepared for the ‘unexpected’ …
“Whether it’s that the maid of honor’s dress suddenly doesn’t fit right or the bride’s big up-do is unraveling fast, every wedding needs a wedding day emergency kit to allow the bridal party to handle the unexpected with ease.”
Wedley Weddings serves the KC Metro. You can contact Josh at (913) 709-8682 or visit the Wedley Weddings site.
