Kansas City Continues to Headline National Rankings
If you live in the Kansas City metro, you are already aware that Kansas City is tremendously diverse in activities. In the last couple of years in particular, Kansas City has made headlines as being at the forefront in several categories.
This year, National Geographic published “The world’s most exciting destinations for the year ahead.” On their list of 28 destinations, which included Hoang Lien Son, Vietnam, Dordogne, France, Greenland, and French Polynesia; Kansas City was ranked as the tenth most exciting destinations. A central theme in the selection was the “urban renaissance” and investment in the growth of the area while maintaining the charm and “soul” of the city.
In 2018, WalletHub ranked Overland Park, KS as the best place in the country to raise a family. They cited “family dynamics, such as the cost of housing, the quality of local school and health-care systems, and the opportunities for fun and recreation” as compelling reasons to consider when making the decision to move.
In 2018, Forbes named six area companies as “America’s Best Employers”. Rankings were determined by surveying 30,000 Americans working for businesses with 1,000 employees or greater, in various industries.
In 2018, Zagat ranked Kansas City as one of “The Most Exciting Food Cities in America” With five 2017 James Beard semifinalists, Kansas Citians appreciate great food.
These are just a few of many examples. If you live in the metro, you make take for granted the amazing things available in our very livable city. Kansas City has generally been a well-kept secret. If you are planning to relocate to the area, you will likely be pleasantly surprised.
