Liberty Hospital is on a Mission to Offer Lower Cost, Convenient Options
For more than four decades, Liberty Hospital, 2525 Glenn Hendren Drive, Liberty, has been dedicated to providing our community with high-quality healthcare close to home. In today’s healthcare environment, Liberty Hospital is in the midst of great change; diversifying for the future, while being true to their mission – to improve the healthcare delivery system and offer lower cost and convenient options to those they serve.
This year brought the openings of a new urgent care facility and specialty clinic on the west side of Interstate 35.Liberty Hospital Urgent Care Shoal Creek offers extended hours with easy access located across from Walmart on North Church Road. Liberty Hospital Specialty Clinic Shoal Creek now offers cardiologists, orthopedic and spinal surgeons, obstetricians/gynecologists and dermatologists.
Liberty Hospital also announced a new clinical affiliation with Saint Luke’s Cancer Institute to provide comprehensive oncology services on their campus. By teaming up, they now can combine the latest in technology, pharmaceuticals and clinical trials with Liberty Hospital’s award winning quality and personal care.
Also this year, Liberty Hospital became the first provider in the Kansas City area – and the only one in this region – to offer MAKOplasty, a surgical procedure for hip and partial-knee replacements. They are only the second hospital in Missouri to acquire this technology. MAKOplasty is less invasive than traditional total replacement surgery and is performed using a surgeoncontrolled robotic arm that allows for more precise movements and a custom fit for the replacement joint.
While continuing to expand services, Liberty Hospital also is undergoing extensive renovations to make their campus more welcoming and comforting. The new main entrance and lobby, along with the gift shop, patient registration and patient rooms on 3 East recently opened. After a makeover completed last spring, the Emergency Department opened with the addition of a patient fast-track to decrease the wait times and length of stay for patients with less serious injuries and illnesses.
